The Canon 7D can shoot 720p HD video at 60fps, but an After Effects plug-in called Twixtor lets you slow that footage down—way down—to 1000fps. Paired with the right (relatively slow-moving) subject matter, it looks phenomenal. [Kottke]

Canon just quietly announced a Studio Version of the Canon EOS 7D , adding a slew of security features for pros who (begrudgingly) share their camera. It’ll also read barcode information and store it in a shot’s EXIF data.
